Initial Consultation
All my projects, no matter how big or small, we start with initial design consultation. The stage involves meeting with the Client and discussing your goals, vision, and budget. This consultation helps us to understand your preferences, lifestyle, and needs, as well as any limitations that may exist in terms of space or budget. From there, we will conduct preliminary research to gather inspiration and start developing ideas for your project.
Concept Development
Typically, after the initial consultation and assessment, I move on to developing a concept for the space. This involves creating mood boards, sketches or 3D models to visually represent the design ideas and concepts. The purpose of this stage is to finalise a cohesive design plan that includes colour schemes, furniture layout and overall theme of the space. We provide the client with drawings and visual representations of each room, along with a comprehensive design plan that encompasses the style and overall look of both permanent and customisable elements throughout the property.
Detail Design
Once our client approves the Concept Design Proposal, we move forward with this more advanced phase. In this stage, we meticulously refine the initial design sketches and renderings, transforming them into precise technical drawings and specifications. This attention to detail allows us to focus on every element within the design. We create specification schedules, establish budgets, and produce technical drawings for all elements that were agreed upon during the previous Concept Stage.
Procurement and FF&E
At this phase we focus on the strategic acquisition and installation of all elements essential to the interior space. We undertake the procurement process, which involves sourcing and purchasing the specified FF&E items. This encompasses furniture, lighting fixtures, decorative elements, and other essential components. Attention to budget constraints, quality control, and adherence to project timelines is paramount during this stage. We work closely with vendors, manufacturers, and contractors to ensure that the selected items align with the design intent and meet the project’s functional and aesthetic requirements.
Execution and Installation
During this stage, we will bring the design concept into reality by sourcing materials and items required for the design. We will also work with contractors to ensure the installation of features such as lighting and furniture is done correctly. While this is the final stage of the process, it is also the most exciting as it involves seeing the project come together. Additionally, communication is key during this stage as we will provide updates to the client regarding progress and any potential changes or challenges that may arise. It is crucial for us to maintain open and transparent communication with the client throughout this stage to ensure their satisfaction with the final result.
